Join members of the Southern Queens Greenway on March 26th for a restoration cleanup of the NYC Parks-managed land alongside Laurelton Parkway. Come get a firsthand look at a lost park trail hidden in plain sight!
We will meet at Laurelton Playground and walk north to Merrick Boulevard, and then to Laurelton Gardens where the restoration work is being done. The event will last approximately 2 hours, starting at 11 am.
Check out our YouTube video for a sneak peek!
Tools will be provided for guests who are interested in helping to bring the park trail back to its former glory by shoveling accumulated plant matter off the path. If you have extra shovels and gloves, or if you would like to donate supplies, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Members of the Southern Queens Greenway will be available to identify plants growing alongside the highway. We are currently compiling a record of plants for the area. Learn about native NYC plants while helping to enhance your community!
