Dear Friends of Southern Queens Greenway,
Mark your calendars! There are two opportunities to come out and get involved with the Southern Queens Greenway. After a successful walk in August (see our photos here) we’ll have our second Walk the Conduit on Saturday, September 19th. Same place and same time. Remember to bring good walking shoes, plenty of water and, of course, a friend!

On Saturday, October 24th, at 9am Southern Queens Greenway and friends will host a neighborhood cleanup at Tudor Park. Get ready to clean up some trash with awesome people. It’ll be a great event and we’ll have a little party afterwards to celebrate all of our hard work. Parent supervision is required for participants under 18 years old. If you know anyone who would like to get their hands dirty and wants to do some community service before Halloween this is a great opportunity. If you are from an organization or business that would like to partner up or would like to donate please use the Contact Us page to reach us.

Listen up. On August 15th @ 9am SQGW is hosting Walk the Conduit together event. This is an easy pace walking event for everyone to experience the road as a community. We will meet at Vito Locascio field in Ozone Park, NY. The walk will end by Highland Park in Cypress Hills. There are several Mass Transit options if you cannot make the entire 3.5 mile walk. All participants are encouraged to bring a camera and document the conditions. This is also a great opportunity to meet and network with others who are concerned with improving the conditions along the dividing road.
If you are interested please RSVP on Facebook and save the date. Spread the word in your networks and we’ll see you there!
